The Easter Basket They’ll Remember for Years to Come January 25, 2010 | 11:02 pm

No one likes a generic gift, and Easter baskets you buy at the grocery store can definitely fall into that category.  Sometimes, they even seem like necessity gifts, not something you gave with love and meaning.  With a little bit of extra thought and planning, you can deliver an Easter basket to your loved ones that they’ll reminisce over for years to come.

One of the most memorable gift baskets to compile is candy from your loved one’s childhood.  Casually have a conversation about favorite treats – maybe a special sort of gum, or candy necklaces, or a particular candy bar that’s not commonly found anymore.  You’d be surprised how many candy companies have online stores where they offer classics from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, and sometimes even earlier.  Another suggestion is to zero in on one sort of treat, and provide a large variety to choose from.  If your loved one is never without a mint in her purse, think about what fun she’d have with a basket brimming over with mint flavors and varieties.  The key to a spectacular gift basket presentation is personalizing it to the recipient, so they know you really pay attention to what makes them unique.
